What is PreProBono?
Law is an important tool for activists, nonprofit workers, and philanthropists alike, and PreProBono strives to encourage and enable young law students to acquire and utilize law degrees for altruistic use.
PreProBono is a nonprofit initiative with several bottom lines:
• Providing resources to promising students with an interest in public interest law to assist them in gaining admittance to good law schools.
• Offering access to free LSAT prep in a world of institutionally, problematically, unbelievably expensive LSAT prep courses. PreProBono hopes to serve as an equalizing force in a law school admissions system where the material cost of valuable resources such as LSAT prep courses and admissions consulting create a economic barrier for underprivileged students.
• Building a network of like-minded individuals who share an interest in law and public service.
• Encouraging everyone to consider public interest law.
This project was conceived by Prime Produce coordinators Ping! and prone.
What is Prime Produce?
Prime Produce is an emerging New York not-for-profit whose mission is to provide a nontraditional approach to the nonprofit sector geared toward creative and entrepreneurial young people. We aim to provide them with resources and guidance with which to launch their own subsidiary projects—just like this program right here: PreProBono!
Our hope is that through cooperative, creative, and ambitious involvement in the NPO sector, we can mutually inspire and enhance the next generation of altruistic leaders.
